Posted: May 8, 2025 | Chamber Press ReleasesIn The MediaMember News

Members are reminded, starting as early as Friday, May 9th, Cenovus will be removing the CGS from the Argentia Graving Dock and towing it to the in-shore site at the Head of Placentia Bay (Big Shoal South, Southeast of Woody Island, Northeast of Bar Haven), where it will remain for approximately four to six weeks.

A communications protocol has been established between Cenovus and the harvester members of the Fishers Liaison Committees. Weekly emails will be shared from Cenovus for the information of harvesters about upcoming activities, with more frequent updates as required, in addition to regular notice to mariners.

The harvester volunteers for these committees are: Charlie O’Leary, Kurtis Kerrivan, Pete Griffiths, Loretta Ward, Jamie Barnett, Andre Paul, Corey Heptditch, Cass Barry, Wilbert Crann, Brian Parsons, and Trent Emberley. FFAW has a Fisheries Guide Vessel scouting the tow route for fishing gear and a Fisheries Liaison Officer will be aboard the tow vessel to aid in scouting gear during the tow.

For more information contact any of you harvester representatives or Katie Power at kpower@ffaw.ca or 709-576-7276/709-330-0531.
