Stepping Stones Family Resource Centres are community organizations that support healthy child development by promoting positive parent child interactions for families with children from birth to age six. They provide play based programs, parent support groups, resource materials, lending libraries, clothing exchanges and community events in safe and welcoming environments. Centres also collaborate with partners to offer additional services such as pregnancy and postnatal supports, with flexible programming designed to meet the needs of each community.
Placentia Area Harbour Authority is a nonprofit organization that manages, operates and maintains the Jerseyside port to ensure safe and efficient access for commercial, fishing and recreational vessels. Guided by its board members, the authority oversees infrastructure upkeep, environmental protection, emergency planning and financial management to support sustainable harbour operations. It also contributes to community life through initiatives such as the annual December boat lighting display, which has become a welcomed seasonal tradition.
Placentia Area Historical Society
The Placentia Area Historical Society is a nonprofit organization that operates the OReilly House Museum and promotes the rich history of the Placentia region, once known as Plaisance and settled as early as the fifteen hundreds by groups including the Basque, Portuguese, Spanish and Indigenous peoples. The community later served as a French and English capital and holds many historic sites such as Castle Hill. The society shares information, artifacts and projects that highlight this important heritage.
Placentia Area Theatre d’Heritage
PATH, Placentia Area Theatre d'Heritage, is a non-profit organization established in 1994. We present a living interpretation of significant parts of our French and English history, providing visitors and locals with entertainment that reflects our unique culture. Placentia Bay Cultural Arts Centre
Located in the heart of Placentia, in the Town Square, is the Placentia Bay Cultural Arts Centre. This state-of-the-art multipurpose facility in one of the crown jewels of Placentia’s many cultural assets. The facility is fully equipped for cultural events and performances, including audio visual services and dressing facilities. The flexible character of the centre enables it to be easily adapted as a workshop and conference space, as well as a premier venue for receptions and catered events, exhibit and gallery space.

Port of Argentia
Port of Argentia is a heavy industrial seaport that supports offshore and renewable energy, marine transportation, aquaculture and mining, with a marine terminal offering more than four hundred metres of docking space. The port hosts over forty businesses and is home to North Americas first monopile marshalling port for United States offshore wind projects. Argentia is partnering with Pattern Energy on a major renewable energy initiative and continues to advance large scale developments including the Cooper Cove Marine Terminal Expansion.
Port of Argentia Wellness Centre
Home of the Placentia Lions one of the centerpieces of Placentia’s proud athletic culture is the Port of Argentia Wellness Centre. This modern indoor stadium is designed to maximize the range of sporting and entertainment events. From hockey to curling, figure skating to power skating, power walking to birthday parties, Port of Argentia Wellness Centre fits the bill.
Serving the community since 1984, Power’s Ambulance Service Ltd. provides road ambulance service to the Placentia Area. The service is staffed by trained and professional Paramedics and Emergency Medical Responders who are registered and certified with the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Medical Oversight Program. Certified training in First Aid and CPR is available upon request.
