Placentia Area Historical Society
The Placentia Area Historical Society is a nonprofit organization that operates the OReilly House Museum and promotes the rich history of the Placentia region, once known as Plaisance and settled as early as the fifteen hundreds by groups including the Basque, Portuguese, Spanish and Indigenous peoples. The community later served as a French and English capital and holds many historic sites such as Castle Hill. The society shares information, artifacts and projects that highlight this important heritage.
